How To Make Pickling Spice Blend
You can easily make your own pickling spice blend with just mustard seed, black peppercorns, and coriander seeds, and can keep it in a jar for up to a year.

Ingredients
- 1cinnamon stick,or 1 tablespoon of cinnamon chunks
- 2bay leaves
- 2tbspyellow mustard seeds
- 2tbspcoriander seeds
- 1tbspblack peppercorns
- 1tbspdill seeds
- 1tspallspice berries
- 1tspred pepper flakes,crushed
- 1tspginger,dried minced, optional
- 8whole cloves
Instructions

In a mortar and pestle or electric spice grinder, break down the cinnamon stick into small pieces.

Transfer to a small bowl, then repeat with the bay leaves, crushing them into small pieces of about the same size. Transfer them to the bowl as well.

Stir in the rest of the spices. Use a small funnel to transfer the mixture to a spice jar, or use it right away.

The spices will keep in a tightly-lidded jar for up to 1 year.
