The ‘queen of spices’, elettaria cardamomum is a member of the ginger (Zinziberaceae) family. The name cardamom (sometimes spelled cardamom or cardamom) means “grains of Paradise.” Ground seeds are essential in Indian cuisine. Cardamom’s perfumed flavour is delicious in lassi, and in Indian spiced tea. Leaves are used in curries in Trinidad. Ideal for candies, cakes, cookies, puddings, ice cream and beverages.
