Moroccan Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Marrakech"
Les Terroirs de Marrakech Ancienne Oliveraie
|
This extraordinary oil offers sharp clear flavors and intense with a distinctive peppery finish.
Considered to be the "Champagne of olive oil". this oil comes from a small, centuries-old olive grove in Marrakech, once the domain of Baron of Rothschild before Moroccan independence from France. The Baron also made one of his finest wines on this estate. The terroir is as unique as the orchard, and sometimes the same tree holds 2 or 3 different olive varieties at the same time, creating a unique complex olive oil with an unparalleled taste and fruitiness. These 200 year old trees produce a very small amount annually and has been judged to be GRAND CRU by European competitions. The harvest is done manually and is composed of 80% of French Picholine du Languedoc, plus Picholine marocaine, Menara and Haouzia which are Moroccan autochthones varieties. |
