The justly famous Enji Company challenged the notions of smoking and invented a smoker for liquids such as shoyu, leading to the birth of the Kunsei Shoyu, smoked shoyu (soy sauce). When you open a bottle of Kunsei Shoyu the distinctive shoyu aroma is wrapped in fragrant smokiness. The mingling of fragrance and flavor is superb.
A dash of Kunsei Shoyu is perfect to accompany any cooked meat, poultry or fish. Adding it to dressings, dips, braised or simmered Japanese and Western dishes will impart a distinct and unique flavor. Try tossing hot steamed rice with a generous amount of Kunsei Shoyu and a small piece of butter to turn simple rice into an unexpected and dressed up accompaniment.
