The summer vegetable gardens are getting off to a great start, and the lettuces are holding up well as the weather warms. I’ve been cutting off the outer leaves as they fade, harvesting the nicer ones just within as they head up. Those center heads are the real prize, and I just harvested the first ones yesterday.
